“Orienteer to the story of your life!” – Jämsä-Jukola 2013
As obvious on the Jämsä-Jukola logo, the official symbol from 1956 of a Jukola brother gamboling through the forest by Totti Noisniemi and a very region emblematic old tale of the Old man of Jämsä (” Jämsän Äijä “) are combined in the landscapes of blue Lake Päijänne and green pine forests as the important themes of the 2013 Jukola relay.
Jämsän Äijä tells small and bigger tales of the people in Jämsä. The tales build a larger story of the Jämsä region’s traditions, present day and future. The versatile and rugged features of the central Finland’s terrain emphasise the diversity and memorable aspect of the story with the spirit of Jukola.
Jämsän Äijä also wants to welcome friends of orienteering to the 2013 Jukola and Venla relay with the theme:
