The Venla relay runners waiting for the restart felt quite excited. A few minutes before the deadline many of them were anxiously waiting for confirmation of whether the previous runners would get to the changeover in time. Those who got permission for the restart were looking forward to improving the position of their team. At the same time it was generally hoped that all the competitors would have successfully completed their legs.
The mass start also gives the competitors the opportunity for team tactics; they can improve their result, chat and plan their route choice either with another competitor or orienteer in a group.
Even before the start, fellow Venla competitors and supporters were cheering loudly for each other, which is how it should be in the spirit of the Jukola relay.
