The sun came out when it was time for the Jukola ceremony on the main stage. President Sauli Niinistö addressed Jukola competitors and guests in the Jukola ceremony and emphasized the importance of sports clubs, non-governmental organizations and volunteering as the cornerstones of civic society. The relaxed president also thanked the organizers of the competition and admired the community spirit of the big orienteering family.

As the Patron of Kuopio-Jukola President Niinistö also participated in the prize-giving ceremony where the best 20 Venla teams were awarded. All the teams looked very happy on the podium, the happiest of them of course the winner team OK Pan Århus., posing in the picture above.

The ceremony started with a choir, Kuopion Mieslaulajat, singing and in the end there was a Hornet solo display flight by Karjalan lennosto making a bit louder music.
