In the competition center of Louna-Jukola there are busy preparations of dining areas for competitors and the guests. There will be built a 40-metre-long dining tent, which has 18 serving lines.
The Restaurant Manager of Louna-Jukola, Mikko Mannonen, tells that the preparations are currently ahead of the planned schedule and the zero hour is faced with confidence.
– Of course there’s still much to do, but I believe that when it’ll be the time for Jukola, everything to do with the restaurant will be dealt with, Mannonen states.
Mannonen explains that the restaurant will serve seven different courses: porridge, breakfast package, chicken pasta, vegetarian pasta, meat patty with mashed potatoes, vegetable patty with mashed potatoes and meat soup. An order for 15 000 kilos of food has been placed, so everyone should be able to get their share. In addition there’s a reserves for 20 000 sausages and 40 000 cups of coffee.
– The coffee making won’t be done with your every-home coffee makers, Mannonen points out.
One of the most important collaborators of the Restaurant Management is the Defence Forces with their great experience in feeding masses. According to Mannonen, the Defense Forces are supplying the Jukola with mobile kitchens, refrigerated containers, tents and foodservice equipment.
In turn HK Scan is a valuable collaborator in transporting the meals. The Jukola village food maintenance is upkept by about 300 volunteers.
Mikko Mannonen welcomes orienteers and others to the restaurant of Louna-Jukola.
– The restaurant opened for the volunteers, who will be building the competition centre, already on Thursday, June 4th. Customers are welcome onwards from the morning of Friday, June 12th. In full capacity the restaurant will function from the Friday afternoon – and then the hullabaloo just begins.
