Louna-Jukola is already close enough for the competition instructions to be published. The instructions can be seen here.
We picked a couple of things worthy of noting from the instructions:
- The running orders for both relays must be registered by Friday, June 12th, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. If there is an urgent need to change the running order thereafter, the team has to contact the Info at the latest one hour before the start of the relay in question.
- The team-specific competition material can be collected at the Info from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12th and from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13th. As a prerequisite, all the fees have to be paid and the running order has to be registered.
- Each team must have at least three Emit cards. A card cannot be used on two consecutive legs nor by two different teams in the same relay.
- Using spike shoes is forbidden and will lead to disqualification of the whole team. Dobb shoes meant for orienteering are allowed.
- There are three different last controls. Check out in advance which one is the last control of your own leg!
- The reserve map point is located by the marked route to the starting point. In case of a map missing, the official at the changeover will report this to the reserve map point by radio phone, so that the next runner does not need to waste time at the changeover.
- In both relays, the competitors must go to the Emit card registration point at the latest 20 minutes before the start.
The competition instructions also include many other important points, so especially if you’re a Jukola newbie, we urge you to take your time to read them through carefully!
