“Little forking and lot of running”

The first orienteers of Jukola relay arrived to the changeover area in one hour and twenty minutes. About twenty minutes later a little bit more than two hundred orienteers have finished their leg.
– Quite a nice course. A lot of running, so it suits very well for a runner like me, who is not so good in oritenteering, Antti Mäkinen from the fourth team of Kalevan Rasti comments just after his leg.
There was no wrestling at the controls, however they runned in a large cluster in the begining.
– There was a little pushing untill K-point, but from there we runned in a good harmony. But there was not so much forking in this leg.
Mäkinen, who focuses on skiing, was satisfied with the present ranking of his team, which was 252.
– It is nice ranking. They seemed to put the weakest guy to this opening leg.
– The first team of Kalevan Rasti is propably already far ahead, Mäkinen says, refearing to the favourite team, which has won the last three Jukola relays.
