YOUTH JUKOLA
Youth Jukola is an International orienteering relay of 7 legs for young orienteers. The team consists of both girls and boys.

All legs include approximately 500 m taped route. Forking on all legs, except on the 5th leg.
Start
The competition starts at 11.30 a.m. with a mass start and the winning team is expected to finish at 2.40 p.m.
Competition rules
The competition rules of the Finnish Orienteering Federation (FOF), organization instruction of Youth Jukola and Instructions given by the organizers must be followed. The use of spike shoes is prohibited, but dobb shoes are allowed.
GPS tracking
The organizer has reserved GPS tracking devices for the top teams of the relay for follow-up during the competition on legs 2, 5 and 7. If a team refuses to carry GPS tracking devices, the team will be disqualified from the competition. Own GPS tracking devices are allowed. Specific instructions about the GPS can be found on the organizer’s website.
Eligibility
The contest is primarily aimed at club teams. Clubs that can’t put together their own relay team may form combination teams. Students from schools or youth organizations can also form teams. Runners from a orienteering association participating in a school or youth organization teams must ask permission from their own association. The team composition is made according to the above presented table (leg and age) except for the combination team where girls may run the 7th leg. The organizer forms combined teams of runners signed up for the orienteer pool. Combination teams are not eligible for prices.
Registration
The first registration round opens on March 15th and ends on June 15th, 2015.
To complete the registration please use the electronic registration form found here (available 15.3-15.6.2015).
Teams registered during the first round will receive a password for the official registration service during the month of June. The password should be used to register the team composition.
A list of registered teams can be found on the Youth Jukola website. Teams are added to the list when the participation fee has been paid.
The second registration round opens on June 18th, 2015 and ends on August 9th ,2015 at midnight.

Late registration
Late entries will be accepted until midnight on August 16th, 2015 with an additional fee.
Participation fee
90€/team. Late registration 135€/team.
The participation fee for the first sign up round must be paid simultaneously with the registration to the Youth Jukola, using the following information:

The participation fee for the second sign up round and late registration, is paid online through the official registration service.
Team Compositions
Final team compositions shall be registered by Friday August 21th, 2015 no later than 6 p.m. using the registration system or using the form available from the competition office.
Competition office/INFO
The competition office will be located in Österby school ( the same lace as the accommodation ) on Friday August 21th, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. And on Saturday, August 22nd from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. the competition office is situated at the competition center.
Punching system
Each team must have at least three Emit cards. The same emit card may not ´be used in two different teams. Emit cards can be rented from the race organizer for 4€/ card. The required number of emit cards shall be reserved during the registration process. The Emit card numbers are not needed in advance, they will be registered in the result system when the runners enter the start or changeover area.
Service tents
Club tents can be set up in the competition center on Friday, August, 2015 from 5 p.m. onward. Tents can only be set up to reserved places. Booking of the tent area must be done during the registration process. The size of the tent area is 5*6 m and the fee is 10€/tent.
Map
Orienteering map 7/2015, scale 1:10 000, contour interval 2,5 m. The size of the map is A4 and it is plastic covered.

Forbidden area
The competition area is declared as a forbidden competition and training are until the 2015 Youth Jukola Relay. The forbidden are is presented on the competition website as well as on the map register on the Finnish Orienteering Federations website.
Road Signs
Competition center is located at Västerby sport center.
Road Signs to the competition centre start from the crossroad of Finnish national roads number 25 and 52. The signs will be on site from 4 p.m. on Friday, August 21th, 2015.
Parking
Parking in designated area by the competition center .
Accommodation
Accommodation at a school is provided for the night between Friday and Saturday. Price for the accommodation on hard surface is 15€/person/night including breakfast (the hard surface accommodation does NOT include bed, pillow, blanket etc. ). Evening meals are offered Friday evening for 5€. School accommodation and evening meal must be reserved during the registration process. Remember to inform if special diet is required.
Accommodation is provided at Österby School, address: Österbyvägen 51, Ekenäs. Road signs to the accommodation will be on site from noon on Friday, August 21st, 2015.

Training
Training packages are offered in terrains similar to the competition terrain. Modell training will be offered in two different terrains similar to the competition terrain starting 3 p.m. onFriday, August 21st until 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 22nd. Restaurant
The competition restaurant is located at the competition center. Price for one food portion is 7€ and it consist of : Lasagne (lactose free), salad, beetroot, bread, margarine and water.
