By entering the event, clubs confirm that their teams have been formed in accordance with the eligibility requirements stated in the official competition invitation. The walking distance from the parking areas to the Event Centre is a maximum of 500 metres.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parking<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The parking fee is \u20ac 5 per day. Parking tickets can be purchased from the Competition Office. The parking ticket must be displayed visibly behind the windscreen when leaving the parking area.<br \/>\nParking for buses is free of charge. Teams arriving by bus are requested to notify the organizers in advance: nuju2026@kalevanrasti.fi<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Competition Office\/Information Desk<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Competition Office is located at the Event Centre.<\/p>\n<p>Opening hours:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, 21 August 2026<\/strong><br \/>\n17:00\u201320:00<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, 22 August 2026<\/strong><br \/>\n10:00\u201320:00<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Running Order<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The final running order must be submitted through the entry system by <strong>Friday, 21 August 2026 at 14:00.<\/strong> After this deadline, changes may only be made for justified reasons.<br \/>\nAny changes must be submitted in writing to the Competition Office no later than <strong>Saturday, 22 August 2026 at 12:00<\/strong> Changes must be approved by the Event Adviser.<br \/>\nA team that has not submitted its running order according to these instructions will not be granted permission to start. A team competing in an order other than the approved running order will be disqualified.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Team Material<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Team Material can be collected by clubs from the Competition Office against signature. Team Material will only be handed over to clubs that have paid all required fees.<br \/>\nPayments can be made at the Competition Office by bank card or MobilePay.<\/p>\n<p>The Team Material includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>competition bib numbers<\/li>\n<li>map collection voucher<\/li>\n<li>team official passes <em>(two passes for clubs with three or more teams)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Emit backup slips<\/li>\n<li>rented Emit cards, if applicable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The club representative must sign for any rented Emit cards received with the Team Material. Rented Emit cards must be returned to the Competition Office after the competition.<br \/>\nA fee of \u20ac 80 per card will be charged for any unreturned Emit card.<\/p>\n<p>Please note, safety pins are not included in the Team Material.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Courses and Relay Legs<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The relay consists of seven legs. Disc golf tee areas are shown on the map using symbol <strong>401.0 (Grassland)<\/strong>. In this case, the symbol indicates an advertising flag placed by one of the event partners.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Terrain<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The competition terrain consists mainly of fast-running, pine-dominated forest terrain. Near the shore of Lake H\u00f6yti\u00e4inen, the ground is rocky in many areas. There are numerous tracks and ride paths in the terrain. Not all minor paths have been described on the map.<\/p>\n<p>The elevation differences are generally moderate, but areas with height differences of up to approximately 40 meters can also be found. The competition area contains numerous features originating from the former Kontioranta military garrison, which was closed in 2013. These include, for example, a disused shooting range area. The shooting range area may be entered during the competition. It is permitted and safe to move through this area. The longest courses include detailed terrain and areas with reduced visibility.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fences<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are several fences within the competition area.<\/p>\n<p>Some fences are marked on the map with the standard fence symbol (516.0). These fences can be crossed or passed underneath without difficulty, including by the youngest competitors. Fences marked with the impassable fence symbol (518.0<strong>)<\/strong> must not be crossed.<\/p>\n<p>These fences cannot be crossed in practice, even though crossing fences may otherwise be permitted according to the competition rules.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Forbidden Areas<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Several forbidden areas are marked on the competition map with the forbidden area symbol. If a forbidden area has a continuous boundary line on the map, it is also marked in the terrain with continuous barrier tape. At the biathlon stadium, there is a stored snow pile covered with sawdust. This area is marked as forbidden and is also marked in the terrain with forbidden area tape. For safety reasons, climbing onto the snow pile is strictly prohibited.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Road Crossings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are several roads within the competition area with occasional vehicle traffic. The courses also cross Taskisentie, which is shown on the competition map using the brown road symbol (main road). Taskisentie has no car traffic. All roads within the competition area may be used freely during the competition. No separate crossing points have been arranged. Competitors should nevertheless exercise normal caution when crossing roads.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Controls<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Controls are marked in the terrain with standard orange-and-white control flags. Some controls are located very close to each other. <strong>Always check the control code before punching.<\/strong> Intermediate timing controls are used on all relay legs. A model control is available at the guidepost near the Event Centre. Competitors can also test their Emit cards there.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Control Descriptions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Control descriptions are printed on the map. Control codes are also printed next to the control numbers. Competitors using Emit cards with displays should note that the code displayed on the punching unit may not always correspond to the control code printed on the map.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Competition Bib Numbers<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Competition bib numbers are used on all relay legs. The bib number must be attached clearly to the front of the competition shirt using the competitor\u2019s own safety pins. Each bib number contains a barcode that must remain readable until check-in. Sponsor advertisements on the bib number must not be covered.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Emit Electronic Punching System<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The competition uses the Emit electronic punching system. Emit backup slips are included in the Team Material. Competitors must write the following information on the backup slip:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>team number<\/li>\n<li>relay leg<\/li>\n<li>Emit card number<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When entering the exchange area, Emit cards are read into the results system and cleared.<\/p>\n<p>Each team must use at least three different Emit cards during the relay. The same Emit card may not be used on two consecutive relay legs, or by two different teams.<\/p>\n<p>If a competitor\u2019s own Emit card is found to be faulty during check-in, the organizers will provide a replacement card. If a competitor participating in the mass re-start does not have access to their own Emit card because it is still with a previous team member, the organizers will provide a loan card.<\/p>\n<p>The rental fee is \u20ac 5 and must be paid after the competition at the Competition Office, where the loan card must also be returned. The competitor\u2019s own Emit card will be returned at the same time. A fee of \u20ac 80 per card will be charged for any unreturned loan Emit card.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Start<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The relay starts with a mass start on Saturday, 22 August 2026 at 13:00.<br \/>\nFirst-leg competitors\u2019 Emit card check-in and clearing begins at 12:30 and closes at 12:50.<br \/>\nAfter check-in and clearing, competitors move to the start area.<\/p>\n<p>Competitors take their positions according to the announcer\u2019s instructions. Starting positions are arranged according to bib numbers. Each row contains 10 competitors. Row numbers are displayed at the end of each row.<\/p>\n<p>Maps are handed directly to competitors. Each competitor must check that they have received the correct map.<\/p>\n<p>The map must not be opened before the start signal. The start procedure follows the announcer\u2019s instructions and will be video recorded. A team taking a false start will be disqualified. The distance from the start line to the start point (K-point) is approximately 120 meters.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Relay Exchange<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>All relay legs use the same final control. From the final control, competitors follow the marked route to the relay exchange area. Before reaching the exchange barrier, competitors must complete the exchange punch. After arriving from the terrain, the competitor hands their map to an official and continues to the map racks. The competitor collects the map corresponding to their own team number and delivers it to the next runner waiting at the exchange barrier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important: Make sure that you take the correct map for your own team and the correct relay leg.<\/strong> A team competing with an incorrect map will be disqualified. If another competitor has taken your team\u2019s map, notify an official immediately. The next runner will receive a replacement map from the reserve map point, located near the start point (K-point).<\/p>\n<p>No time compensation will be granted. After the exchange, the incoming competitor proceeds to the Punch Check. After approved punches have been confirmed, the competitor is directed away from the competition area. In case of unclear punches, the competitor must proceed to the Enquiry Point for further investigation.<\/p>\n<p>The relay-style exchange closes at <strong>16:40<\/strong>. After this time, arriving teams will be directed directly to the Punch Check.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Coaching Zone for Legs 3\u20135<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A coaching zone is located along the marked route leading to the start point (K-point). In this area, a team official may assist competitors starting on Legs 3\u20135 with route planning. Access to the coaching zone is permitted only with a valid Team Official Pass obtained through check-in. After entering the zone, team officials must proceed directly to the designated coaching area. Coaching in the warm-up area is strictly prohibited.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Finish<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>From the final control, competitors follow the marked route to the finish lane. The finishing order of teams placed 1\u201330 is determined at the finish line. The finish judge determines the order of arrival. After crossing the finish line, competitors complete a finish punch, which records the team\u2019s official finishing time.<\/p>\n<p>Teams finishing from position 31 onwards are ranked according to their finish punch times, provided they arrive in relay order. After finishing, competitors proceed to the Punch Check.<br \/>\nThe finish closes at 19:00.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Demonstration of Competition Procedures<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The start, relay exchange and finish procedures will be demonstrated as a model performance at 11:45. The demonstration will follow the announcer\u2019s instructions.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Mass Re-start for Legs 2\u20137<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The relay-style exchange closes at 16:40. Competitors taking part in the mass re-start must enter through the check-in procedure. After check-in and Emit card clearing, competitors move to the exchange area according to instructions from officials.<\/p>\n<p>Competitors must arrive at check-in no later than 16:40.<\/p>\n<p>All competitors participating in the mass re-start collect their maps from the map racks according to their team numbers. Officials will assist competitors during the organization of the mass re-start.<\/p>\n<p>The mass re-start takes place at 16:50. The start procedure follows the announcer\u2019s instructions. The schedule may change if the relay schedule changes. Competitors and team officials must follow announcements at the Event Centre.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Enquiry Point<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>If irregularities are identified during the Punch Check, an official will prepare a proposal for disqualification. The matter will be investigated immediately at Enquiry Point.<br \/>\nIf a performance is found to be invalid due to a missing control punch, an incorrect control punch, or an incorrect punching order, the team official may be requested to attend the investigation.<br \/>\nA team will only be officially disqualified after the matter has been investigated and the decision confirmed.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Retired and Disqualified Teams<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A competitor who is unable to complete their relay leg should, whenever possible, proceed to the relay exchange or finish in the normal manner. A competitor who retires from their relay leg must report this at the Punch Check. If a competitor passes the exchange or finish area without completing their leg due to injury or another unavoidable reason, they must report to the Punch Check and hand their map to an official. A team that has retired from the competition or has been disqualified may continue the relay until the finish.<\/p>\n<p>However, if a retired or disqualified team is less than 30 minutes behind the leading team, the next competitor of that team will not be allowed to start until 30 minutes after the leading team\u2019s exchange. In such cases, the team\u2019s map will be removed from the map rack and replaced with a red instruction form containing team number and relay leg number.<\/p>\n<p>The incoming competitor collects the form from the map rack and gives it to the next competitor waiting at the exchange barrier. The next competitor proceeds with the form to the reserve map point. A map and permission to start will be provided once the required 30-minute delay has passed.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>GPS Tracking<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>GPS tracking is used on the following relay legs:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leg 1<\/li>\n<li>Leg 2<\/li>\n<li>Leg 4<\/li>\n<li>Leg 5<\/li>\n<li>Leg 6<\/li>\n<li>Leg 7<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For Leg 1, GPS tracking devices will be assigned to the 20 teams announced on the event website during the competition week. Additional teams may be selected for GPS tracking on other legs if required. Additional GPS-tracked teams will be announced through the public address system and at the check-in tent.<\/p>\n<p>The organizers reserve the right to change GPS tracking assignments during the competition.<br \/>\nA team that refuses to carry a GPS tracking device will be excluded from the competition.<\/p>\n<p>GPS vests may be collected in advance from the check-in tent on Saturday from 11:30 onwards. The competitor\u2019s bib number must be shown when collecting the vest. The GPS device will be installed during check-in. After completing the relay leg, the GPS device and vest must be returned when leaving the Punch Check area.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Personal GPS Devices<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Competitors may use their own GPS watches or other personal GPS devices.<\/p>\n<p>However, GPS devices or recorded route data must not be used to assist a competitor\u2019s own performance or the performance of another competitor during the competition, in accordance with Rule 3.54 of the Rules of the Finnish Orienteering Federation.<\/p>\n<p>Routes recorded by GPS watches or other devices must not be uploaded to digital platforms (for example, Strava) before the competition has officially ended.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Warm-up<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The relay exchange area serves as the official warm-up area up to the start point (K-point).<\/p>\n<p>Toilets are available in the exchange area. As the Event Centre is located in the middle of the competition terrain, independent warm-up outside the Event Centre is permitted only along Taskisentie southwards from the Event Centre. The location and end point of the permitted warm-up route are marked with signs. The forest on both sides of the road belongs to the competition area. Leaving the road is strictly prohibited.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Drinking Water<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>There are no drinking stations in the competition terrain. Water is available near the finish area at the competition center.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Live Broadcast<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The competition broadcast can be followed on the screen at the Event Centre, via IS-TV and Ruutu, and afterwards on YouTube. The organizers recommend avoiding the use of personal devices for following the broadcast at the Event Centre. Running camera operators may follow competitors in the terrain. Competitors may also be invited to the interview area after their performance.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Changing Facilities, Showers and Toilets<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Toilets and portable toilets are available at the Event Centre and in the exchange area. Showers are available in the service building of the biathlon stadium.<br \/>\nStudded orienteering shoes are strictly prohibited inside all buildings.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>First Aid<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The location of the first aid station is shown on the Event Centre map and signposted throughout the Event Centre. In emergency situations, contact the emergency number directly: <strong>112<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Prize Giving Ceremony<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The 15 best club teams will receive Youth Jukola medals. Honorary prizes will be awarded to the seven best club teams. The winning team will hold the Youth Jukola perpetual trophy for one year and will receive a miniature replica of the trophy to keep. The best composite team will also be awarded. Award-winning teams must gather near the Main Stage according to their placing and the organizers\u2019 instructions no later than 17:15. The Prize Giving Ceremony begins at 17:30. The ceremony may begin earlier if the competition schedule allows.<\/p>\n<p>Award-winning teams must follow announcements at the Event Centre. Teams will enter the prize-giving area in reverse order according to the instructions of the announcer and officials.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Youth Jukola Perpetual Trophy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Rules of the Youth Jukola Perpetual Trophy<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Youth Jukola Perpetual Trophy, donated by OP Group, is competed for in the Youth Jukola Relay over seven consecutive years. The current trophy period covers the competitions<\/p>\n<p>2021\u20132027. \u00a0The trophy is awarded for one year to the club whose team wins the officially approved competition. Any unused points are transferred to the next best eligible club.<\/p>\n<p>After the seven competitions held between 2021 and 2027, the trophy becomes the permanent property of the club that has achieved the highest total number of points.<\/p>\n<p>If two or more clubs have achieved the same number of points, the winner is decided by:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>the number of victories;<\/li>\n<li>if still tied, the number of second places;<\/li>\n<li>then third places, and so on.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><strong>Map Collection and Livelox<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Maps can be collected by clubs from the Competition Office after the mass re-start from 16:50 onwards. Maps are handed over against the map collection voucher and signature.<\/p>\n<p>The returned team maps include maps from each relay leg and one map with all controls.<\/p>\n<p>The Youth Jukola Livelox event will be opened after the competition on Saturday. Competitors are encouraged to upload their routes to Livelox after the competition. The disc golf course located in the area will be closed during the event.<br \/>\nThe Youth Jukola 2026 Rescue and Safety Plan is available separately.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Club Tents<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Club tents will be placed in the areas allocated according to advance reservations. A location map for club tents will be published on the event website. Special attention must be paid to securing tents properly. Tents must remain safely in place even in changing weather conditions. If weather conditions become challenging, the organizers may restrict the erection of tents or adjust the permitted installation times. Overnight stays at the Event Centre are prohibited.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Training Maps<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The organizers provide two official Youth Super Weekend training sessions. The training areas are Ollinkangas and Lykynlampi. The courses are planned by the Youth Super Weekend course setter Santeri Silvennoinen. In addition, an official model orienteering event opens on Thursday, 20 August 2026. The model event is located in the immediate vicinity of the competition terrain on the Kontioniemi map. Training maps and model orienteering maps are available through the online shop. Items can be claimed during the event by providing sufficient identification details.
