Kusiaismäki’s terrain offers an excellent setting for this year’s Youth Jukola. Typical features of the terrain include an extensive path network and long slopes. The runnability of the ground is typical to Central Finland. Mainly full-grown trees help the runnability so there is no need to dive into raspberry bushes, unless you want to. Competition centre is located at the cross-country skiing stadium and it provides a direct and handy access to the forest for competitors to start their orienteering course.

The updated map is accurate and easy to read. The only speciality is the frisbee golf course. On the map the tees are marked with small yellow rectangles and the targets are marked with black crosses. Additionally, newly formed paths from frisbee golf course are marked on the map. To avoid mistakes, it is recommended to read the map carefully at the areas with multiple cross-country skiing tracks.

The planner has prepared excellent courses, which take into account the level of difficulty of each leg. All of the courses will offer both technical and physical challenges for everyone. The shorter courses will rely on paths and bigger features, while the longer courses will offer route choices and more challenging approaches to the controls.

These elements will make a big, happy and unforgettable event perfect for orienteers, supporters and organisers.

Have fun!
