Information about washing up when using school accomodation

The accomodation is in Kangasmetsä and Pohjanlinna schools, which are close to each other. Only Kangasmetsä school has showers, and there are not many places in them (2 x 4 showers). In the Friday evening, it is also possible to use the washing facilities of the Kankaanpää sport center, which is about 200 metres from the schools. It is open till 9 pm.

Kankaanpää swimming hall is open on Friday till 8 pm. Tickets are not any more sold after 7.30 pm. The prices are:

• entry adults 5 e
• entry children 2,5 e
• swimming suit rent 1 e
• towel rent 1 e

You can stay at the pool 1,5 hours. Using long swimming shorts (“beach model”) is not allowed.

Remember to wash yourself carefully before going to pool or sauna. Do no use swimming suit in the sauna or when washing yourself.

School accomodation
The organizers offer accomodation for the night before the relay in school class-rooms. The schools used for that purpose are situated next to the competition center (max. 400 metres from the start-area). The price for school accomodation is 15 e/person inclunding breakfast from 6 to 9 am.

In addition to breakfast on Saturday morning, there is a possibility to buy a snack-package on Friday evening. More info about restaurant services here.

Important! The school accomodation closes at 11 o’clock on Saturday. After that moment, there is no entry to the schools.

Hotel accomodation
Near to the competition center, there are some hotels, in which it is possible to get accomodation both during the competition and beforehand for training camps. Near to Kankaanpää there are also many other hotels etc. (Some of the pages are only in Finnish, sorry.)
