National Compass Event & Finals of the INOV-8-league & National Alastaro Circuit Race, Loimaa 18.8.2024.
National Compass Event
One of the last Compass Cup events of the season. The Compass Cup is a national series of orienteering competitions for children in Finland.
H/D10RR & H/D12 interval start. H/D14 mass start.
Orienteers that have not participated in previous Compass cup events are welcome.
INOV-8-League
Finals of the INOV-8-League: a series of youth races held in Finland over the course of the season.
H/D16, 18. Chasing start. The INOV-8-League finals will be held with a chasing start, departure order based on the INOV-8-League ranking.
Orienteers that have not participated in previous INOV-8-League competitions are welcome and will be assigned a start time after the chasing start.
National Alastaro Circuit Race
The National Alastaro Circuit Race is a one day event. It is the only opportunity for adults to compete in Youth Jukola terrain.
Series: H/D 21, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, H/D12TR.
H/D 21 mass start, other series interval start.
Registration
Registration must be received on Sunday 11/8/2024 at 23:59 at the latest, through the IRMA-registration portal. https://irma.suunnistusliitto.fi/public/competition/view/26518
Registrations are visible on the event website after registration closure. No late registration.
It is also possible for foreign competitors to register by 11 August 2024 with email to nuortenjukola2024@gmail.com. At the same time, the necessary number of Emit cards must be reserved.
Payments are made straight to Nuorten Jukola account Fi 86 5260 0720 020431.
H/D 10–12 € 12,-, H/D14 € 16,-, H/D 16–18 € 18,- and all other series € 22,-. Rent Emit for 5 €.
After that we will send confinrmation of registration and received payment.

Friday 16/8/2024 from 10:00 onwards.
Participation fees
H/D 10–12 € 12,-, H/D14 € 16,-, H/D 16–18 € 18,- and all other series € 22,-. Fees are paid online at registration, in the IRMA registartion portal.
Competition rules
The competition rules of the Finnish Orienteering Federation (Suomen Suunnistusliitto) and the instructions of the organizer must be followed. Spiked shoes are forbidden on all legs. Shoes with studs are allowed.
Arrival instructions

Signage will be in place from Friday 16/8/2024 16:00. Directions given by the organisers must be followed.
Parking
Parking will be at the competition centre and in its direct surroundings.
Event Arena
The event arena (competition centre) consists mainly of asphalted racing circuit pit-stop area, and of woodland and sandy terrain. Changing and showering are at the competition centre. Showering under field circumstances.
Catering
There is a restaurant at the competition center. A meal will cost € 12,- when bought on the spot or € 10,- in advance from the registration system. All food is lactose free. Milk free and gluten free meals are available upon request.
In addition to the restaurant, a cafe and a sausage kiosk can be found at the event arena.
Competition Cards and Punching System
Emit cards are used in all series. The Emit cards’ serial numbers should be reported at registration. If no card number is submitted, the organizers will reserve a rental card for you, for € 5,- /card.
Start location
Preliminary schedule:
First starts at 10:00.
For the Compass Series, the distance from the Event Arena to the Start is 630 m. All other series will start in the Event Arena.

Competition Map
Map scales: 1:10 000, HD 21 1:15 000, HD 50 and above 1:7 500.
Map sizes: HD 12 A5, HD 14 A4, HD 16 A3, others A4 or A3.

Competition Terrain
The competition terrain is largely runnable woodland, with an extensive network of recreation routes and paths. Overall visibility and runnability are very good. Of course some areas of dense trees or thicket may locally be encountered as wel. Height differences are mild. Access to some areas is restricted because of artificial ground water winning. Of these Out-Of-Bounds areas, separate instructions and photographs can be found in the competition instructions.
Embargoed Areas

Training
In preparation for the competition, training legs are on offer, that have been opened in autumn 2023. These can be obtained for € 5,- /map. More precise information is advertised on the 39th Youth Jukola website. https://jukola.com/nj2024/nuorten-jukola/harjoittelu/

Club tents & Accommodation
If you have a club tent at the Event Arena, you may leave it standing until your departure on Sunday afternoon 18/8/2024. It is prohibited to stay overnight at the Event Arena.
