
Arriving to Mikkeli-Jukola
Traffic arrangements of Mikkeli-Jukola are planned to ensure safe and smooth arrival.
There is no parking close to the competition center.
How to get there?
This is how your trip is easy:
By own car: Drive to Mikkeli and follow guide posts to carpark
By train: There are good connections by train. Check timetables and buy tickets at VR.
By bus: There are connections by Matkahuolto and Onnibus. Check the timetables at Matkahuolto Onnibus
Distance between the travel center and the marketplace is about 300 m/ about 5 minutes by foot. There is a non stop bus connection from marketplace to the competition center.
Competition center – at the heart of orienteering
The competition center is located in Tikkala, at the area of Suutarinen Yhtiöt. To get there takes another ride, but no worries, the route is clear and easy.
Parking – where does my car stay?
Passenger cars:
- Airport carpark (Lentokentänkatu 4-6, 50150 Mikkeli): Friday to Sunday
- Otava car park (Röppääntie 1, 50100 Mikkeli): Saturday to Sunday
The vehicles will be guided at the carpark, you must follow the instructions.
Club buses:
- Club buses will be guided to HK-Stop via Vanha Otavantie. The junction Tikkala-VT5 will be closed from Friday, June 14 7:00 am till Sunday June 15 6:00 pm. .
- Follow the introductions of the traffic guides carefully.
Motorhomes and campers:
- Mainly parking at Kalevankangas. Follow the Jukola signs from Kalevankankaantie. Campers: Follow the signs from Raviradantie.
- Those who have bought first lots for motorhomes/campers in the Jukola register system, will be guided to HK Foods factory car park, which is already full. Those who have bought a parking lot for motorhome/camper will receive a parking licence by mail with arrival instructions to carpark.
Last leg: arrival to the competition center
You are not allowed to drive to the competition center, but there are free non stop buses from the car parks. Note that it is not allowed to bring bicycles, electric scooters, or other similar bulky means of transport on the buses.
Routes and lengths of the bus routes:
- Otava- Kariniemi bus stop: 6 km/10 min
- Airport – HK bus stop: 8 km/ 20 min
- Market place – HK bus stop: 9 km/20 min
- Kalevankangas – Airport- HK bus stop: 9 km/ 20 min
Remember the name of your bus stop!
It is 1,5 – 2 km walk from the HK/Kariniemi bus stop to the competition center and camping area.
Buses run mainly non stop. On Friday 13 June they sun every 30 minutes. At night between Saturday and Sunday at 02.00 and 07.00 there will be timetabled buses.
Arrangements at the competition center
Arriving by bike is recommended! Free bike park is located close to the competition center. Remember to reserve enough time for arrival – be on time!

Bus transportation to the competition center is free of charge.
