Training packages for the Jukola 2019 are open. There are five different trainings available at the moment. All training maps are mapped by Janne Weckman, the Kangasala Jukola mapper. All maps are in scale 1:10000. Map sizes mostly A4 and one training in size A3.

When driving to the trainings, please slow down when seeing horses! The local residents have told that orienteers have been driving fast even though there are riders on the road.
1) Rutakorpi – relay training
Relay training with forking. Course lenght 5,8 km 14 controls. Max. 4 different variation. 500m from parking to star.
Northern part of the terrain offers some old spruce forest while southern part is steeper hill area with some signs of earlier forestry.

Parking: Hietasentie 72, Kangasala. On a wider part of the road or at side side of the road if needed.
2) Majaalahti – interval training
2 x 2,6 km orienteering intervals with forking. 400m from parking to start,700m transit in between and 2km transit from finish to parking.
The terrain is just on the edge of Jukola embargoed area and is maybe the most relevant to the competition terrain. The terrain features some bigger hill areas with pine and spruce forest.

3) Kisapirtti – relay training
Relay training with forking. Course lenght 6,0 km.
Terrain with considerable network of paths and marks of forestry. Terrain was used for Pre-Jukola competition in 2018.

4) Ponsa – west, relay training
6 km long relay training with forking. Max. 4 different variations. Ponsa is arguably the nicest terrain in Tampere region. Fast pine forests with bare rock as well some green areas and steep hillsides that offer challenging orienteering and route choises. Finnish middle championships 2017 were held in Ponsa.

Parking: nearest address Kellosalmentie 1115, Orivesi. There a smaller road leads up a hill to parking place in an old sand pit.
5) Ponsa – east, interval training
4 x approx. 1,5 km intervals with forking. Ponsa is arguably the nicest terrain in Tampere region. Fast pine forests with bare rock as well some green areas and steep hillsides that offer challenging orienteering. Finnish middle championships 2017 were held in Ponsa.
6) Kaukavuori – Relay training
Relay training with forking. Course lenght 6,8km, 14 controls. Max. 6 different variation. 1000m from parking to start and 1000m from finish to parking.
The terrain features some bigger hill areas with pine spruce forest.

7) MODEL EVENT – Jukola-weekend (Open only from 14.6. to 16.6.2019)
Map A4, course lenght 5,4km, 10 controls, easy to shorten. On the map, an example of shorten course is 4.2km. About 1km from the competition center (info). Training opens on friday 14.6.2019 at 10:00 am. Big flags and reflectors for night orienteering at the controls. Price 10 eur. Maps are available only in competion centre.
