Valio-Jukola event invitation has now been published and thus, entries to the event can be submitted. The event invitation provides important information about the relay competition, the enrolment as well as general instructions with regard to Valio-Jukola.
Entries to both Jukola and Venla Relays can be done through the electronic enrolment system on the Valio-Jukola internet-site, www.jukola.com/2012. Making an entry requires an access code. Those orienteering clubs and other associations that participated in Salpa-Jukola 2011 will receive their access code via e-mail in December 2011. Clubs and associations that have not attended the Jukola event before will receive their code by registering in the electronic enrolment system.
Entry fee for the Venla Relay in 2012 will be 140 €/team and for the Jukola Relay 245 €/team. Reduced entry fees (117 €/205 €) will be applied to entries submitted by the 1st of March 2012. Enrolment ends by the 17th of May 2012.
Only women may run in the Venla Relay. Both women and men may take part in the Jukola Relay. Women, who have already attended the Venla Relay, may run in the Jukola Relay for teams of associations other than orienteering clubs. It is not required to have the Finnish Orienteering Federation’s licence to attend the relays. Minimum age required from the competitors is that of 15 years (born in 1997), but there is no maximum age. The youngest participants, those born in 1996 and in 1997, may run only specified legs.
There will be a non-stop bus transport from the Tikkurila railway station to the competition centre as well as from the Mellunmäki metro station. These shuttle busses are the easiest and most convenient way to reach the competition centre.
Valio-Jukola will be run on 16th and 17th of June 2012 in Vantaa. The competition centre will be in Hakunila Recreation Park. Valio-Jukola is the 64th Jukola Relay and the 35th Venla Relay. The organisers for the 2012 relay are Pihkaniskat and Keravan Urheilijat. More information about the event can be found at www.jukola.com/2012.
