Embargoed Area

All movement, orienteering, and moving in the area with a map are prohibited.

Exceptions:

Competition area is popular for outdoor activities. Therefore there are some exceptions in embargo.

• Use the asphalt road to Vuokatinvaara.
• In winter, ski on groomed trails and ski on the ski slopes with cross-country skis.
• In summer, walk along the above-mentioned ski slopes, the UKK hiking trail and ski slopes.
• Participate in the Vaara test run organized by the Vuokatti-Ruka Sports Academy or sports associations, even on the part of the test run route that is otherwise prohibited.

OBS! Allowed trails and roads are marked green in embargo map. All the other roads and trails are prohibited!

As of 11 April 2027, all movement in the embargoed area is prohibited!
