The best of Venla’s were recognized at Jukola Ceremony

Jukola Ceremony on Saturday evening was spent in warm atmosphere at the main stage of the competition village. The celebration was opened by the patron of Jukola Relay Lieutenant General Timo Kivinen from the Finnish Defence Forces which was followed by the Chairman of Lahti City Council Pekka Komu.

In his greetings Timo Kivinen thanked the background organizations and organizers for the significant work they have done to get people to move more. Also the Finnish Defence Forces are interested in Jukola Relay. This year they have up to 50 teams in the competition.

The prizes were handed out by the Chief of Defence Command, Lieutenant General Timo Kivinen, Chairman of the The Finnish Orienteering Federation Board Antti Ekonoja, Vice Chair of Kaukametsäläiset Esko Junttila, competition hostess Minna Kauppi ja competition host Sami Jauhojärvi.

Stora Tuna, the winning team, received the “Venlan avaimet” challenge trophy. All together 20 best teams of the Venla Relay were awarded with high quality goods prizes.
