The 74th Jukola was sent off an hour before midnight. In a cloud of dust and flashing headlamps, 1 695 runners went out on the first leg. The first leg of 12,7 kilometers is estimated to take one hour and ten minutes. The winning team is expected to finish around seven in the morning in Epoos fast conditions.
